It’s a magical time of the year, when the ground is covered in a fresh white snow. Kids running outside having snowball fights, making snow angels and building snow forts – the world transforms into a wonderland of snow. The best part of all is enjoying a hot cup of cocoa next to the fireplace after spending the day playing outside. Here are some of our favorite items that remind us just how special it can be to live in a winter wonderland.
Candles: if you don’t have a fireplace, well then a candle could work too. Light a few around the house to set the ambiance. Plus, if you can get a fun winter scented candle, it will be like you brought the outdoors inside to the warmth of your home.
Photo Pillows: playing in the snow can tire you out. So, cuddle up on the couch with a big blanket and a comfy pillow. And why not place a festive photo pillow on the couch to reminisce about last year’s 8 foot snowman that you built. It’s a great way to commemorate all of the great times you’ve had in the snow or over the years. And it makes a great gift.
Baby It’s Cold Outside: yes, yes it is! Whether you place this on your mantle or on your bar at home, it’s a creative reminder to friends and family that they should stay a little longer and have some fun. Oh and it makes a great addition to a party table. It’s fun and festive and perfect for a winter birthday, wedding, or a gathering with friends.
Reindeer Gloves: you have to keep your hands nice and warm for when you’re holding hands with your loved one. Whether you’re taking a stroll through your winter wonderland or just wearing them on the daily, these cute and wintery gloves will keep you in the winter spirit and keep your hands warm.
Pinecone Shakers: these are a little bit fancier than the pinecones you find outside, but these salt and pepper shakers are a cute addition to your dinner table.
Photo Mugs: like we said above, there’s nothing better than enjoying a hot cup of cocoa next to the fireplace. Make it an even more special mug by adding your favorite photos. You can make it a seasonal mug, a thank you gift, or just make one for yourself. Add photos from last year’s snow day or from the holidays, or even of your pet – admire your photos as you sip on your cocoa.
Gold Wreath: it will stand out in the snow. This gold wreath will be a welcoming and warm sight to visitors making the trek through the snow to come visit.
Hot Cocoa: do you see a trend here? We kind of love hot cocoa in the winter. Whether topped with marshmallows or whipped cream, this is our absolute favorite tradition for snow days. With this creative spread of hot cocoa, invite your friends or neighbors over for a hot cocoa bar. Yum!
Let It Snow: The perfect addition to the fireplace, especially if you love snow. Curl up with a good book, a blanket and watch the snow fall. It’s a beautiful time of the year.
Snow days are meant for fun, snow games and cuddling up near a fire. We’re hoping that you can enjoy the snow this year and keep your home festive and warm despite the chilly weather outside. Make some fun memories and be sure to share them with us.
