Young Women Share Gratitude

I will never be able to thank each of you enough for all the great things you have taught me.

You have been an incredible example to me.

When two leaders of a young women’s church group were leaving after four years, they took with them a very special photo book.

While the front and back were decorated with photos, the inside held images of a series of handwritten letters from the 12-to-18-year-old women.2Q4A8799 sm

Thank you so much for everything you did for me! I love you and will miss you so much.

I know that it is really important to love our neighbors and I’m so glad we have that among us in our young women’s program.

Chelsea Libby made the book for the group leaders at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Burley, Idaho.

“They loved it,” Chelsea said in a recent phone interview. “They thought it was wonderful.”

She said she made the book rather than a traditional scrapbook because it is something that is more substantial that the leaders will be able to keep for a long time.

It was her first time using the tool, and she said there was a bit of a learning curve, particularly since she was using images of the letters rather than photos.

“Once I got the hang of it, it was very easy to use and everything went smoothly,” she said.

The same idea of using handwritten letters could be used for anniversaries, milestone birthdays, retirements and other special occasions. One of the advantages this is that people that cannot make the celebration could mail a letter in.

Being in Young Women’s with all of you has been a joy and adventure. I’ve loved every second of it.

I’ve learned so many things that are already helping me make my way in the world.
